Now that we have time to begin to settle from what has been an amazing week for everyone connected to the Club. We took the time to catch up with the gaffer for a quick reflection.

This is what Russell had to say;

“What a truly amazing week we have had. We as a club couldn’t have even scripted the week that unfolded. New signings, a great TV documentary portraying the clubs battle both on and of the field, along with the personal battles fought by many, 3 games in 7 days and not forgetting the long awaited win.

Everyone should be proud at what the Club has achieved. The hard work and dedication by a selected few people has really started to pay off. We remain in the highland League despite much criticism last season. The lads showed great resilience and bravery week in and out. We are by no means out of the woods and the club still requires financial backing to fully achieve its goal of securing football in the Lochaber area for the up and coming young players that are coming through our youth development.

I would also like to take this opportunity, from the bottom of my heart, to personally thank everyone for their kind wishes and support that has been given to me regarding my illness. I have tried to respond to every message I have received and I apologise if I have missed anyone. Mental health is still very much a taboo subject and has a stigma attached to it and everyday I face some form of struggle dealing with the PTSD. I have to say a massive thank you also to ptsd999 for their support behind the scenes.

I truly am humbled by the support and to be thanked for being the strength for those that can’t find the strength is truly overwhelming.

Let’s make this a truly memorable season for all the right reasons.

Thank you for your continued support and hopefully we will see you at Claggan Park.

I am honoured and privileged to be a part of this Club and the community that supports it.

C’mon the Fort!
